In Acrylic Colour Theory Intensive with Zara Haque🔗 explore the foundations of colour through acrylic painting while building confidence with essential painting techniques. Learn how to mix and layer colour, create harmony and contrast, and understand the relationships between warm and cool tones, value, and saturation. Through guided exercises and creative painting projects, we will explore how colours interact, evoke emotions, and transform the mood and impact of an artwork while developing your own personal approach to painting.

Suggested Material List: 

Recommended Paints: Liquitex basics – Pyrrole Red, Primary Yellow, Primary Blue, Titanium White, Ivory Black (small tube)

Brushes: Synthetic, variety of sizes and shapes (round, flat, filbert, and detail brushes)

Flat- (recommended sizes 4, 8, 12)
Round- (recommended sizes 2, 6, 10)
Detail brush- (recommended sizes 0 or 1 for fine lines)
Palette: at least 12×12” glass, plastic (could be any flat tray), or sta-wet
Extras:
-Apron or old clothes
  • -Sketchbook/ water colour paper (dollarama carries a cheap one)
  • -Palette Knives
  • -Masking Tape
  • -Paper towels or rags for clean-up.​
  • -Stretched canvas, canvas board (size is student’s choice)​
  • -Source material (photos, etc.) from which to paint
