How can comic books bring your story to life?

This class will take a close look at how to create a comic book from designing and drawing characters and environments, to storytelling and preparing your pages for production.

Human anatomy, colour theory, drawing in perspective and the visual language used in comic books will all be taught.  Handouts covering different aspects of comic creation are provided to enrich lessons and assist participants as they work on developing their own short comic.

Note: Teens registered in this class will have their supplies provided by Forum Art Centre.

Suggested Material List:

  • Graphite pencil and eraser. A regular vinyl eraser and HB pencil will suffice.
  • Sketch book. The minimum recommended size is 9″x12″
  • Pens for inking. Pigment liner pens or brush tip pens.
  • Additional supplies for colour are optional but not necessary for the class.
