In this course, Desiree Mendoza 🔗 teaches to use the unique qualities of watercolour, such as transparency and fluidity, to create beautiful florals using a loose and simplified style. Halfway through the course, the focus will turn to abstract landscapes using experimentation and applying various techniques.

Basic knowledge of watercolours and how to use them is recommended.

Suggested Material List:

Good quality watercolour paints in different colours (in tubes)
Watercolour round brushes nos. 2 or 4 and 10 or 12; Flat Brush 1” (Hake Brush 1” – optional)
Several sheets of 140lb cold pressed Arches watercolour pad (9×12)
Scraps or pieces of watercolour paper
Palette with wells (with enough space for mixing)
2 water containers
Masking or painter’s tape
Backing board (ex. plastic corrugated or foam core)
Spray water bottle
Uni Posca Fine Marker (White)
-Pigma Micron Pen (no. 3) in black ink and Pigma Micron Brush in black
-Old plastic card
Plastic Cling Wrap
-Salt (any type will do)
Pencil and eraser
Paper towel or old absorbent cloth
Other materials may be discussed in class
