Explore portraiture with different mediums!

Drawing portraits can be a real challenge.

In this class, Doug Fedrau 🔗 guides students through the anatomy of the face and teaches techniques that will help capture the likeness of their subject. We will work from photo references as well as direct observation. The goal of this class is to create accurate and attractive portraits.

Most of the instructor’s work and demonstrations will be in charcoal, but students are free to work in the medium of their choice.

Note: The class will include one session with a live model.

Suggested Material List:

A large sketchbook (between 9″ x 12″ to 11″ x 14″)
A range of hard to soft pencils (2H, HB, 2B)
An eraser
Supplies in the medium of your choice
Paper towel and a rag
