Are you ready to get your hands into some clay and build something unique?

Refine your knowledge of the fundamentals of clay using pinch, coil and slab building methods in a creative and nurturing environment with Sage Wednesday 🔗. Demonstrations will introduce a variety of project-based construction methods as well as surface techniques, glazing and firing.

Participants are welcome to follow the projects or work from their own ideas. Individual guidance will be provided and brainstorming as a class will be encouraged. Work at your own pace and enjoy exploring hand-built ceramics.

Note: This class is held in our basement studio with stair access only.

Suggested Material List:

  • Kemper tool kit (basics)
  • Fettling Knife
  • Scoring Tool (Serrated Rib or Other)
  • Old Hand Towel and Apron
  • Half a box of Cone 6 Clay, tucker 6-50 or B-Mix with or without grog
  • Cone 6 glazes (more on this to be discussed in class)

Materials can be purchased locally at The Sounding Stone.

Note: Your instructor will review our firing volume limits during your first class and help students visualize their volume limit for the ten-week session.

Due to a scheduled firing week, there will be no clay class on March 3rd.
