How to Draw

$157.00

Tuesdays, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM
October 15  to November 19, 2024
Six Weeks

This foundational drawing class with Dave Carty will explore the methods seasoned artists use to execute a drawing. Students will be guided through lessons to use all the features of drawing to encourage their inherent ability to flourish. Special emphasis will be placed on how to effectively use the pencil as a tool, not just for mark making, but for perceiving correct angles on objects, size measuring and how to precisely keep a drawing in proportion. Still life, perspective, portrait, and figure drawing will be used as a means to learn how to draw.

Learning to draw teaches students how to focus on the details of the subject with a renewed, fresh view. Students will gain the ability to see a subject for what it is, rather than what they think it should be.

Students will receive individual instruction to enhance their learning and promote confidence to continue their drawing practice in future classes or on their own.

Note: The class will include four sessions with a live model
