Ten Weeks

Lean into the free and unpredictable nature of watercolour in this 10 week intuitive painting class with interdisciplinary artist, activist, and instructor, Jo Pinera.

Expand your visual vocabulary and nurture your intuition through studies in mark making, still life and nature observations, abstract compositions, and more.

Intuitive painting is the practice of letting go of fear and expectations and learning to trust your intuition. It is about devoting time to let whatever happens on the page happen – to be guided by the unknown and learning to work with it and not against it.

This class is suitable for beginner watercolour artists seeking to explore the medium and enhance their creative expression. We will learn the foundations of watercolours while also focusing on experimenting with techniques that unlock your playful, imaginative, and most authentic selves. Students can complete a series of nuanced studies each week, allowing for exploration of personal style and technique. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with a toolbox of skills to help their as well as produce several final works that effectively express their unique visual vocabulary and artistic voice.
