Beginner Wheel Throwing Clay (Wednesday Evening)

No clay class on March 4th.

Learn the fundamentals and give shape to your clay projects!

Instructor Sage Wednesday🔗 outlines the beginning steps of shape making on the pottery wheel.

You will learn important behaviours of clay and its properties in order to create works successfully. 

This course will focus primarily on the creation of mugs and bowls; crucial steps to beginning your wheel journey! 

Glazing and other design elements will also be taught throughout the course. 

Suggested Material List:

  • Kemper tool kit (basics)
  • Fettling Knife
  • Scoring Tool (Serrated Rib or Other)
  • Old Hand Towel and Apron
  • Half a box of Plainsman M340 Clay
  • Cone 6 glazes (more on this to be discussed in class)

Materials can be purchased locally at The Sounding Stone.

Note: Your instructor will review our firing volume limits during your first class and help students visualize their volume limit for the ten-week session. 

Due to a scheduled firing week, there will be no clay class on March 4th.
